Elena Bianchi took her final certificate for baroque bassoon at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique of Geneva (Switzerland) with a special mention from the jury studying with Lorenzo Alpert and at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica (former Scuola Civica) in Milan (Italy) with Alberto Grazzi. Previously she took a diploma for recorder at the "G.B. Martini" Conservatory in Bologna with Giorgio Pacchioni, with whom she also studied historical counterpoint and theory and a master degree in musicology at Bologna University.
In 1999 Elena Bianchi played in the European Union Baroque Orchestra, touring in many European countries with directors as Ton Koopman and Roy Goodman, for whom she also played as a soloist a bassoon concerto by the English composer Capel Bond.
Elena Bianchi plays dulcian, baroque and classical bassoon in Italy and abroad (Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland, Ireland, United Kingdom, Poland, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Egypt, U.S.A., Mexico, Turkey, Korea, Japan and Australia). She worked with many different groups such as the Ensemble Elyma (Gabriel Garrido), Modo Antiquo (Federico M. Sardelli), the Balthasar-Neumann Ensemble (Thomas Hengelbrock), Complesso Barocco (Alan Curtis), the Italian baroque and classical orchestra Academia Montis Regalis in which she played with directors such as Jordi Savall, Sigiswald and Barthold Kujken, Filippo Maria Bressan, Hidemi Suzuki, Alexander Lonquich, Alessandro De Marchi, etc., Cantus Coelln, (Konrad Junghänel), Le Concert des Nations (Jordi Savall), La Risonanza (Fabio Bonizzoni).
She regularly plays with Concerto Koeln (René Jacobs, Ivor Bolton), Accademia Bizantina (Ottavio Dantone), La Cappella della Pietà dei Turchini (Antonio Florio), the Ensemble Aurora (Enrico Gatti).
Elena recorded for many European broadcast and labels such as Opus 111, Deutsche Grammophon, Tactus, La Bottega Discantica, Emi Classics, Amadeus, Dynamics.
Elena Bianchi has been assistent of Alberto Grazzi at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica in Milan and was teacher for baroque bassoon at the Conservatorio "A. Pedrollo" in Vicenza (Italy).
