Judith-Maria Blomsterberg started to play cello at the age of seven. She completed a Bachelor of Music in cello performance at the Musik Hochschule Lübeck in Germany, which led to a position in the Hamburg Staatsopera Orchestra. During this time, she started to develop a passionate interest in Baroque music and joined the ensemble Musica Poetica Lübeck. She moved to The Netherlands to study with Jaap ter Linden and completed both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Baroque cello at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
Judith has recorded and played with the ensembles "Aurora", "Accordone" (Italy), "Quintus" and the "New Dutch Academy" (Holland), "Barokksolistene" (Norway) in all important Early Music festivals, such as Utrecht, Barcelona, Innsbruck and Brussels.
Also she was a prizewinner in the Concourse "Johann-Heinrich Schmelzer" 2002 in Melk (Austria).
Judith-Maria Blomsterberg is at present teacher for baroque cello at the Copenhagen Conservatory and also at the Högskolan in Malmö.
